Fourth of July
Happy 4th of July and our 1st anniversary in Florida. The shuttle Discovery launched this afternoon and we got to see it go over south Florida. About a minute into the launch a tremendously bright spot of light followed by a white trail of smote streaked across the sky. From here its four hours by car to the launch site but only 1.5 minutes by space shuttle - that's some ride!
Fireworks were easy to see this year. The big display was just across the road at the Sportsplex in Coral Springs. It was a warm, breezy night so we decided to avoid the traffic and bike over. We loaded my panniers with the big old picnic blanket, some beach towels, the camera and tripod, and couple of bottles of water. Ten minutes later we had our place near the front row of the display. The weather was great and the ride over was fun. The display was pretty nice. As usual, the finale was the best part - good and loud!!
Happy 230th Birthday USA!

Yes. That haircut was a bit shorted than I expected. I got the feeling my instructions we're translating too well into Spanish. Fortunately, it wasn't open heart sugery.
